Barbara M. Dachowski Obituary

PLEASE NOTE MASS TIME HAS CHANGED.

Barbara M. (Warlikowski) Dachowski, 84, of Hillsborough, N.J. died peacefully in her sleep on September 27th, 2022.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, at 10:30am, at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, Dunellen, N.J.

Burial will follow on Monday, October 3rd, 2022 at the Sand Hill Cemetery, Shoemakers, PA.

There will be visitation on Friday, September 30th, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, N.J.

Barbara M. (Warlikowski) Dachowski and her husband Theodore, resided in Dunellen for 28 years. They later spent 25 years in Marshalls Creek, PA.

Barbara and Theodore were members of the St. John the Evangelist Church in Dunellen, where they served as Eucharistic ministers, led Pre-Cana marriage preparation work for young couples and were committed members of Marriage Encounter. An avid singer, Barbara sang alto in the choirs of the Church of St. John, East Stroudsburg, PA and Mary Mother of God, Hillsborough, N.J.

Barbara was a Jersey City girl at heart. She grew up on Clark Avenue in the West Side neighborhood. She attended Polish school as a young girl and attended Our Lady of Czestochowa Church. She was a proud graduate of Saint Dominic Academy in Jersey City.

Barbara was an accomplished fine artist, specializing in pastel, oil and watercolor. A graduate of DuCret School of the Arts in Plainfield, N.J., she became well known for her still life and her landscape painting. The pinnacle of her art career was when she was awarded the title of Master Pastelist from the Pastel Society of America, Grammercy Park, N.Y.C.

She will always be known as someone who loved to cook, to sing whether in Church or just to her favorite artists, to dance the polka and to be the last one at the party. Barbara always remembered birthdays, anniversaries and special moments with those she met which endeared her to so many people.

She is survived by her sister, Claire Warlikowski of Jersey City, N.J.; her daughter, Laura D. Kelly and her husband, Paul, of Stratham, N.H.; her sons, David J. Dachowski and his wife Angela of Hillsborough, N.J. and Michael J. Dachowski and his wife Nakissa C. Etemad of San Francisco, CA.; her grandson, Ryan Kelly; her step-grandson, Reginald Kelly, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Eugene.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Dominic Academy, 2572 John F. Kennedy Blvd, Jersey City, NJ 07304 (https://www.stdominicacad.com/giving/donation/).
