Barbara A. (Conger) Vecchio

Barbara A. Vecchio, 79, of Dunellen, passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022 in New Brunswick.

Barbara was born in Plainfield, NJ to George and Josephine Conger on February 6, 1943. She attended school in Plainfield and worked for Aramark since 1997, most recently in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville schools.

For those who knew her, Barbara will forever be remembered for her smile, her laugh, her hugs, her strength, her love of cats and her quivering lip. Barbara enjoyed her weekend shopping days, spending time with her loved ones, watching Hallmark movies, preparing for and celebrating Christmas, cookie making and being a sore loser in every single card game, even if she ended up winning.

Barbara was predeceased by her husband Salvatore (2011), her son Allen Conger (1989), and her parents Josephine (2011) and George (1979).

She is survived by her children: Charles Conger of Dunellen, Barbara Brizak of Branchburg, Santa Pasquale of Galion, OH, and Anna Vecchio, of Dunellen. Also surviving are two sisters: Joan Day and Mary Kopp; 10 grandchildren: Michael Conger, James Barnes, Travis Fuchs, Samantha Conger-Ramon, Bryan Brizak, Michael Pasquale, Jr, Heather Pasquale, Elizabeth Brizak, Nicole Pasquale, and Joseph Vecchio; 12 great grandchildren: Tristin, Michael, Justin, Ilijah, Michael, Joshua, Colton, Jaden, Dakota, Christopher, Nathan, and Rebecca, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen, Avenue, Dunellen from 6 pm – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Lost Paws Animal Rescue, PO Box 128, Pittstown, NJ 08867, 908-331-1551.
