Barbara Triolo Obituary

On February 11, 2023, Barbara Triolo, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 76.

Barbara was born on November 19, 1946 in Austria following World War II, to John and Katherine Pichalski. She and her family came to the United States when she was 4 years old. Barbara was the second eldest of six children and she often told stories about growing in Finderne.

Barbara enjoyed getting together with her friends, especially her ladies friends’ group, who have been gathering for breakfast for the past 35 years or so. She was grateful when the ladies came to her home for the past several years for breakfast. Barbara also loved talking to her sisters on the phone and enjoyed nothing more than when her sister Annie came to visit her in NJ.

Throughout her life, Barbara was someone who loved to crochet. She made blankets and fine lace doilies. Many babies and adults were kept warm by her blankets over the years. Numerous tables were covered with her doilies. One of her final projects was making blankets for her immediate family members. She wanted to make certain that each one had a blanket to keep them warm and remember her by when she was no longer here and she said as much. Barbara was an avid reader. She was capable of reading a book a day sometimes and her favorite genres were horror and suspense. Barbara also loved gardening and she could often be found in the back yard tending to her tomatoes and other plants. She was always very proud of her garden.

One of Barbara’s greatest joys in life was her grandchildren. When she became “Grammy” with the birth of her first grandchild, she was never happier and they gave her life a renewed light after retirement. Until the time of her death, she called her three grandchildren weekly to catch up on what they were doing in their adult lives. She was always so proud of their accomplishments.

Barbara met her future husband, John, as they worked together at Great Eastern, while in high school. She graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan West High School in 1965 and married John not long after. They were married for 58 years and were dedicated to one another.

Barbara is predeceased by her beloved husband John, parents, brother John, sister Johanna, and son John Jr. She is survived her daughter Michelle (Deron), sisters Annie (John), Lucy, and Helen, and grandchildren Aaron, Sammi, and Lorel. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Entombment will be private.
