Barbara A Popolillo, 74, of Saylorsburg, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at St Luke’s Hospital in Stroudsburg, PA with her loving family by her side. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eileen (Kerwin) Kyle.
Barbara was a beautician who worked for many different salons over her career. She had a group of regulars who were just as loyal to her as she was to them. She loved to decorate her home, collect magazines, especially about arts and crafts, which she excelled in. Barbara was an excellent cook, loved to go camping and loved going to the beach. She especially loved going down to Bike Week in Daytona Beach, FL. Her greatest joy came from her family and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Barbara was predeceased by her significant other, Michael Knox in 2014. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Edward and Lawrence Kyle, Patricia Cleverly, Denise Mergott, Steve Boncavage, and Glen Mergott. She is survived by her loving children: Lorraine Jopko of Hamilton, NJ, Mark Popolillo of Toms River, NJ, Ronald Popolillo and wife Mary of Saylorsburg, PA, Jammie Popolillo of Wesley Chapel, FL and Michael Popolillo of Washington, NJ. Barbara was also survived by her sisters; Kathleen Blank and Eileen Mergott and by her brother, William Mergott. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, March 26 from 5:00-8:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27 at 10:00am at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Dunellen. Burial will follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
