Barbara Seifert Iannetti, age 89, passed away peacefully at Serenity House in Morristown, TN on November 10, 2023. Known as “Gram or Old Mimi” to her beloved family, Barbara grew up in New Jersey and was a cherished wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt and good friend to many. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know and love Barbara are forever grateful for her presence in our lives.
Barbara was a mountain of a woman. She was a fixture at the Middlesex Public Library in New Jersey, serving 50 years as their trusted accountant. She was a member of the American Legion Post 306 Ladies Auxiliary. Barbara was someone you could always count on. She was supportive, kind and compassionate.
Barbara loved to travel, read, have her nails done, watch her shows, but of all the things she loved the most, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her the greatest joy.
Barbara spent all her leisure time supporting and loving her family. As a dedicated grandmother, she attended countless sporting events, cheerleading competitions, graduations, and silly school parades. She made Halloween costumes and allowed every single grandchild to terrorize her by playing piano (very terribly) when they were at her house. She let kids be kids, never telling them to be quiet, even when they were banging loudly on the piano keys. She was patient and understanding, especially during the holidays or during an impromptu living room concert. A cookie jar fairy, known for her endless supply of snacks, Barbara was the glue that kept her crazy family together. She was one of a kind.
While her family is heartbroken that she is no longer on the earthly plane, we find peace in knowing that she is watching us and smiling from above. She loved her family more than she loved Tom Selleck on Blue Bloods (which, if you knew her, is A LOT).
Her loving presence and playful essence will infinitely remain. We know in our heart of hearts that she will always be with us. Her love was unwavering and unconditional, and we will take this with us to the end of time. She is already dearly missed.
Barbara is survived by her three children: Dale Iannetti, Vicki Mason (Don), and Jimmy Iannetti; eight grandchildren: Nicole, Elena, Sam, Krista, Blaze, Holly, Brianne and Max; six great grandchildren: Joey, Tommy, Emily, Meredith, Maddie and Rory; 2 sisters Peggy Barzenick and Linda Yambor; one niece Piper Barzenick and three nephews, Jay Barzenick, Mark Yambor and Jeff Yambor. Sorrowfully, her husband Victor Iannetti, daughter-in-law, Debbie Iannetti, son-in-law Kenneth Morge and brother-in-law Walter Barzenick, preceded her in death.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 8 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen.
