Anne Marie Dolan passed away peacefully on February 22, 2021 at age 81. She was born on September 27, 1939 to Frank and Anne Caamano (nee Lukowski) in Bayonne where she lived her entire life. As a young woman in the 1950s and 1960s, she traveled across the United States, experiencing all the places she had dreamed of, including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Las Vegas. In May 1972, she married the love of her life, Patrick Dolan, from whom she got her love of all things Irish. They remained happily married until his passing in 2009. For 30 years, she worked as a telephone operator in Jersey City for New Jersey Bell. In her later years, she enjoyed visits with her sister Gloria and her nieces, nephew, and especially her great nieces and nephew who all knew her as “Aunt Am”. She loved playing the lottery, going to New York City, Hallmark movies, chocolate, and good diner food.
She is survived by her sister Gloria Balas and her husband Eugene; niece Wendy Hummers, her husband Matthew and children Sydney and Madison; niece Jennifer Sheeler, her husband David and children Emma and Owen; nephew James Balas, his wife Christina and children Taleen and Nora, along with other extended family and friends. She was loved to the end and will be remembered for her kindness and generosity.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 24 from 10-11:30 at Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen. A private funeral service will be attended by family.
