Ann Marie Hill, 94, a lifelong resident of Dunellen, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Somerville and raised in Bound Brook, Ann was the cherished daughter of John and Helen Mooney. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School in 1949 and later attended Berkley Business School. Ann built a long and successful career as an Administrative Assistant and Bookkeeper before becoming a partner at New Jersey Fire Equipment, where she proudly worked until her retirement in 2016.
Fearless in spirit, Ann was always ready for her next adventure. She spent countless weekends sailing the Barnegat Bay with family and friends and treasured her many trips to Ireland, the Caribbean, and vacations with her dearest girlfriends. She never missed a family event and found her greatest joy in time spent with those she loved. Deeply committed to her community, Ann was a lifetime Catholic Daughter, a member of the Rosary Society, and an active Rotarian.
Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great‑grandmother, and a beloved friend to many. She was extremely grateful and humbled by the outpouring of love and support from family, friends and caretakers.
She was predeceased by her husband, William Hill, and her daughter, Susan Fosbre. Ann leaves behind her son Robert and his wife Kathy, along with her grandchildren, Tara Fosbre, Brian Fosbre (Rebecca), Christopher (Mary), and Andrew (Theresa) and seven great‑grandchildren; Finnegan, Ophelia, Phoebe, Madelyn, Gabriella, Michael, and Emily.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, February 18 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, NJ. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Dunellen. Burial will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery.
