Rose M Mondoro, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1 at RWJ Hospital in Somerville with her loving family by her side. Born in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Patsy and Ann (Cherichella) Farenga.
Rose loved to go on trips with the Traveling Seniors. She loved playing bingo, making trips to Atlantic City, playing cards and going bowling. She enjoyed arts and crafts and working in her yard. Rose was an excellent cook who loved family get togethers. Her greatest joy came from raising her family and providing a happy and loving home and in later years, that love was shared with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rose was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 2011, and by her adored children; Phillip in 1994 and Maryann in 2016 as well as by her son in law Joe Amato. She is survived by loving children; son John and wife Annette of Ringoes and daughter Jennifer Costantino and husband Joe of Middlesex. Rose is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Melissa, Christina, Michael, Nick, Joey, Johnny, Marisa, Sam, Madeline, and Jenna. She is also survived by her brother Pat Farenga and wife Eleanor of Bridgewater as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, April 5 from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00 at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 6 at 9:00am at St John the Evangelist Church in Dunellen. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
