Robert E Simser

Robert (“Bob”) E. Simser, 80 of Green Book, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ. Born at The Somerset Hospital on April 28, 1939, he was the son of the late Ellsworth and Anna Simser.

Bob was a 1957 graduate of Green Brook High School.  Bob went on to work at the Union County occupational center in 1959 where he would retire in 2004 after 45 years of service. Bob was an avid bowler and bowled in the Saturday exceptional league for many years at Strike-N-Spare lanes in Green Brook. His life-long passions were trips to Key Biscayne, Florida where he enjoyed fishing.  Additionally, he loved motorcycles and tractor trailers. Bob had an extensive baseball card collection and loved rooting for his favorite team the New York Yankees. 

Bob was the beloved brother in law of the late Nelson K. Frantz. He was predeceased by his loving sister Edna Frantz on August 29. 2018. He is survived by his sister Wilma Gallant, niece Linda Phillips and nephews Jeffrey and Michael Phillips. Robert will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 10:30am.
