Robert W. Rizzo, born August 30, 1941, in Plattsburgh, N.Y. went home with God peacefully today at Saint Peter's University Hospital in Brunswick, N.J. with his daughter Jacqueline and her family by his side.
Bob lived his younger years in Connecticut where he became a barber and enjoyed giving haircuts dressed as Santa or the Easter Bunny. He enjoyed sailing, waterskiing, hiking, bowling and playing the accordion. Later in life he lived in New Orleans where he became a Professional Chef, learning from Chef Paul Prudhomme one of his mentors. Recently Bob discovered his hidden talent of painting and it gave him much pleasure.
Robert will be remembered for his fast witted jokes and stories and for his kinder gentle side where his love of people and his generosity and willingness to please shown through.
He is predeceased by his son Joseph. Robert leaves behind his daughter Jacqueline Hodulik and husband Gerald of Dunellen, Grandchildren; Jennifer Hodulik and fiance Michael Wessel of Boston, Massachusetts and Daniel Hodulik of Pacific Beach, California, his sister, Virginia Westcot of Clearwater Florida, his brother James J. Amlaw of Pinellas Park Florida and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday; December 22nd, 2018 at 10AM at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex. A repast will immediately follow at Our Lady of Fatima in Piscatway. His burial will be in the family plot Plattsburgh NY.
