Marie Yvette (Vidal) Oras

Marie Yvette Oras, 55, of Lebanon, NJ, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2018 at her home with her loving family by her side. Born in Manila, Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Romeo and Flordeliza (Bernabe) Vidal.

Marie attended Fairleigh Dickenson University where she first met her husband, Jeff.  She was a freshman and he a junior.  Her career began at Electronic Data Systems (EDS) where she worked as an executive administrative assistant for 9 years.  After marrying Jeff, she took on the role of business manager/dental assistant at his practice, Progressive Dentistry LLC in Whitehouse Station.  They worked together as the business grew over the years. Marie was a devoted wife to Jeffrey and stood by his side until his death on November 21, 2017.

Marie was a very compassionate person who, despite her shyness, was able to touch people's hearts.  One of the last things Marie said before her death was, "Give love, especially to those who need it most". She definitely thought more of others than herself.  The kind, gentle soul that Marie was saw the beauty in everything and good in everyone.

Marie is survived by her sister, Cynthia Hynes and her husband John, her brother Manuel Vidal and his wife Concetta, her nephew/godson Stephen, her nieces Noelle, Megan and Leela and her nephew/godson Frank.  And let’s not forget her beloved dogs, Lucy and Shiloh.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday October 21 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 22 at 10:00am at St. Luke's Catholic Church in North Plainfield. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge.
