Mabel M (Briggs) Wesley

Mabel M Wesley, 74, of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 30 at her daughter’s home in Morganville with her loving family by her side. Born in Washington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Ruth (McDonald) Briggs.

Mabel worked for many years as a machine operator with L’oreal in Franklin, NJ before retiring 10 years ago. She loved playing the lottery, and her trips to Atlantic City and Wildwood. Her greatest joy came from her family and keeping a happy and loving home. In later years, that joy and love was passed along to her grandchildren and to her great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and eternally loved by all who knew her.

Mabel was predeceased by her beloved husband Riley, whom she married in 1967 and passed away in 2002. She is survived by her loving children; daughters Rebecca Ellis and husband Richard of Morganville, Martha Huerta and husband Armand of Texas, Diane Wesley of Piscataway and Jackie Santilli of Piscataway; her son John Wesley and wife Edna of Florida. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Francis Ellis, Richard, Daniel and John Wesley, Melissa Wesley, Frankie, Renee and Samuel Huerta and Tyler Wesley as well as by her many Great-Grandchildren. Mabel is also survived by her sisters; Margaret Gallo and Martha Tsampis, both of Washington, PA and her brother Donny Briggs of Houston, PA.

A viewing will be held on Monday, April 3 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen, with a Celebration of her Life taking place at 7:30. All other arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mabel’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at www.stjude.org/donate
