John A. Strauss Jr., 79, of Piscataway passed away July 29, 2017 at Somerset Robert Wood Hospital in Somerville. He was born in Kentucky and had lived in Dunellen before his move to Piscataway 10 years ago. John served honorably in the Army Air Force and had also earned a Masters Degree from Kean College. He was employed as a Postal Carrier for the Dunellen Post office for 30 years and then worked briefly for the UPS in Bridgewater before retiring in 1990. His beloved wife Penny passed away May 24, 2017.
Surviving is his daughter Shannon and companion Santiago of Hillsborough, a son, Ryan and wife Denice of Easton, Pa. and three grandchildren, Enox, Chloe, and Jayden.
Visiting will be Wed. from 11-12AM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. There will be a funeral service also on Wed. at 12 noon. Cremation will be private.
