Jessica was an amazing friend and mother. I had to pleasure of reconnecting with her after my family and I moved out to Ohio, and we spoke often about our years of playing basketball together, our lives now as adults and our families. Jessica spoke often about her love for her entire family, and the overwhelming amount of love she had for her son Nicholas. She loved him more then life itself and was so proud of everything he did. We talked about our kids and all the stuff she wanted to do with Nicholas. She wanted to finish her recovery and had plans to take him to Disney this summer. We talked often about Disney and how the best part about life was watching our kids grow and love the magic of Disney. For one time during that time, we knew everything in the world was right when the kids were believing in magic. Jessica was truly a blessing on earth and I was so lucky to spend my childhood with her playing a sport that we both truly love, and then reconnecting with her as adults and seeing the love she had for all the people in her life. We are sending thoughts, prayers and love to everyone. With love and sympathy, Richelle (Rikki) Ettel-Spayde, Cory and Peyton Spayde; Rich (Charlene) Ettel, Richard, Courtney, Gracelyn and Elianna Ettel, and Dorothy (Dee) and Joe Gladden.

Jess was an example to all of us of how we should live our daily lives. I strive to have a little bit of Jess's heart and attitude in me each day. What a beautiful gift from God. She has left behind a treasure in little Nicolas that we all have the pleasure of loving and supporting him in every way we can. My utmost prayers for Mary as she carries another burden that her body was never created to carry. We love you all so dearly !
