Helen Weiss was born on March 17, 1928. She married Stanislaw Zukowski in 1948. Stanislaw and Helen came to America in 1951, with mother Michelina Weiss and son Thaddeus.
Helen worked for Van Blaircon sewing factory and Stash worked for Art Color in Dunellen. In 1953, Helen gave birth to Barbara and later moved to North Plainfield. The couple struggled but worked extremely hard to assimilate to their new country. They eventually made their living buying and selling rental properties.
After retiring, Stanislaw and Helen spent winters in Clearwater, Florida until Stanislaw’s passing.
Helen was a member of the Polish Falcons in Plainfield and Somerville where she enjoyed dancing and participating in their many functions with her family and friends.
Later in life Helen remarried, now the late Anthony Tamalonis and resided in Linden. Then 2 years later they moved to Clearwater and then Holiday, Florida.
Helen passed away on August 20, 2019 in her home in Clearwater, Florida which she shared with her son, Ted.
Helen was a devout Christian and will be remembered for her strong relationship with Jesus as well as a loving mother and grandmother.
Helen leaves behind her son, Thaddeus Zukowski of Clearwater, Florida; her daughter Barbara Mastrian of Dunellen; her granddaughter Melissa Paltjon and her husband Joseph of Dunellen; her grandson Michael Mastrian and wife Holly of Succasunna and 5 great granddaughters, Abby, Gianna, Aubree, Brynlee and Kylie, as well as her beloved dog, Sky.
In lieu of flowers, donations made be made in Helen’s name to St. John’s Church, 317 First Street, Dunellen, NJ 08812.
There will be a visitation on Monday; August 26th from 6-9 PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday; August 27th at 10 AM at St John's Church, Dunellen. Burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield, NJ.
