Helen (Sopko) Rutsch

Helen Sopko Rutsch, 88, of North Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 4, 2019.  Helen was born and raised in Scotch Plains, the daughter of Mary and Nicholas Sopko.

Helen was a member of St. Luke’s RC church since its inception. 

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Otto; son Bruce Rutsch and wife Donna of Mount Pleasant, SC; daughter Heidi and her partner Walt of East Stroudsburg, PA; grandson Sean Swain; granddaughter Ashley Eminizer and her husband, Steve; two great granddaughters, Jalissa Swain and Stella Eminizer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial visitation on Thursday; January 10th from 11:30-12:30PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen. A memorial service will follow at 12:30PM at the funeral home. Burial to take place at St. Gertrude's Cemetery, Colonia. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Helen's name to Grace Hospice, 105 Fieldcrest Ave, Suite 402, Edison, NJ 08837.
