Gertrud E (Stubba) Darcy

Gertrud E Darcy, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 23, 2017 at her home in Piscataway with her loving family by her side. Born in Dortmund, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Franz and Elisabeth Stubba also of Dortmund, Germany. Gertrud spent her early years singing in the Opera house in Dortmund. She was an avid lover of music and sang rejoicefully every Sunday at mass. 

Gertrud was devoted to her family and keeping a happy and loving home. She was an active member of St. Frances Cabrini Parish being one of the original parishioners. In later years, that love was passed along to her grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great- grandchild. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Gertrud was predeceased by her loving husband Vincent in 1992 and her twin brother Heinrich Stubba in 1943. She is survived her daughters; Beatrice Darcy of Basking Ridge, Regina Darcy and her companion David Towns of Seaside Park; her son Wolfgang Darcy of Midland, TX; her cherished grandchildren, Angela, Rachel and Ryan, her beloved great-grandchildren Virginia and Patrick and her adored great-great-grandson Patrick.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday June 28 from 8:00am-10:00am at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday June 28 at 10:30am at St. Frances Cabrini Church in Piscataway. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
