Frank J Bernhardt

Frank J. Bernhardt, formerly of Whiting NJ died peacefully Nov 4, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born 10/4/1923 as the only child of Frank Bernhardt and Jennie Patrizio, grandchild of Anthony Patrizio a prolific mosaic artist brought to the US from Florence, Italy. Frank was an award winning artist himself, lighthouses and jersey shore scenes most often the subjects of his paintings. He graduated Syracuse University cum lauda with a BFA and Masters in Fine Arts. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a decorated world war 2 veteran, having been a paratrooper in the Philippines, fighting during the battle of Corregidor. He is predeceased by his wife Helen and eldest son Frank, survived by his  daughters Jenny, Marie, her husband Chris and 1 son Michael, 4 grandkids Heather, Adam, Chris, and David and 5 great grandkids Destiny, Jordan, Marianna, Max and Mateo. Services will be at Whiting Bible Church 95 Lacey Road Manchester NJ 732-350-9290 on November 15, 2019 at 1pm.
