Ernst H. Weber, 92, of Green Brook, NJ, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Care One at the Highlands Nursing Home in Edison with his loving family by his side. Born in Czechoslovakia, he was the son of the late Franz Johann and Hedwig Weber.
Ernst emigrated to the United States in 1961, ultimately settling in Green Brook. He worked as a welding foreman for H.F. Butler in Union, NJ, for 31 years. Of his many hobbies, celebrating his German heritage was very important to him - including membership in the Deutscher Club and Enzian Ski Club, both of Clark. Ernst loved to ski and frequently traveled around North America and Europe. He was an avid photographer and enjoyed reading books. But most important to him was spending quality time with his loyal friends and family.
Ernst is predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife Gerda. He is survived by his sister, Anni Schaaff Boettcher; his sons, Michael (spouse Joy), Ralph (spouse Cindy Lea) and Andreas (spouse Susan). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, November 14, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave. in Dunellen. A memorial service will be held Friday, November 15, at Somerset Hills Memorial Park Chapel in Basking Ridge, with entombment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Ernst‘s family requests making a donation in his memory to the St. Labre Indian School at www.stlabre.org or to a charity of your choice.
