Eleanor Gertrude (Rusch) Nusser

Eleanor Gertrude Nusser, 102, passed away peacefully at her home in Piscataway on Wednesday August 9, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Rose (Hoehing) Rusch.

Having lived most of her life in Union, Eleanor was a volunteer at Union Hospital. She loved spending her summers at the Shore. She also had a love for needlework, especially crocheting and embroidering. Her greatest joy came from raising her family and keeping a happy and loving home. Eleanor lived a long and joyous life, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Eleanor was predeceased by her beloved husband Albert in 2000, and by her daughter Barbara Smith in 1980. She is survived by her loving children; son Richard and wife Loraine of Piscataway, and daughter Linda Lewis and husband John of Coventry, RI, as well as by her 8 cherished grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Jane Keller.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 13 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14 at 10:00am at All Saints Lutheran Church in Piscataway. All other arrangements are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor’s name to All Saints Lutheran Church, 5205 Deborah Dr, Piscataway, NJ 08854
