Edna (Simser) Frantz

Edna Frantz, 93 of Middlesex, NJ and Key Biscayne, FL, passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 29, 2018 at RWJUH in Somerville, NJ. Born in Middlesex, she was the daughter of the late Ellsworth and Anna Simser.

Edna spent most of her adult life teaching. She taught for 42 years, first in the Plainfield School System and later in the Montgomery Township School System before retiring in 1989. She was a member of the New Jersey Education Association and the National Education Association. She also volunteered at Muhlenburg Hospital. Edna’s greatest joy came from helping young people grow and achieve a promising future. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edna was the wife of the late Nelson K. Frantz. She is survived by her beloved brother Robert Simser and sister Wilma Gallant. Also surviving is her niece Linda Phillips, her nephews Jeffrey and Michael Phillips.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, September 3 from 5:00-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 4 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
