Doris H (Growney) MacWilliams

Doris H. MacWilliams (Growney) 89, formerly of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at The Chelsea at Warren, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ she resided in Piscataway for 57 years before moving to The Chelsea at Warren, NJ in 2015.

Mrs. MacWilliams was employed as an assembler with Chanel Inc. in Piscataway for many years before her retirement.

She enjoyed spending holidays & free time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She had a passion for watching her favorite baseball team the NY Yankees play on TV.  The little things in life made her happy, such as eating at the local diner and sleeping over her children’s homes.

She was predeceased by her husband Thomas A. MacWilliams in 2004; her parents Michael J. and Catherine (Baldringer) Growney, sister Catherine (Peggy) Malinowski and daughter-in-law Rubby MacWilliams.

She is survived by her son’s Thomas MacWilliams, Michael MacWilliams and his wife Candida, daughter Susan Andersen and her husband Robert; grandmother to Andrew Andersen, Amy Nicolson and her husband Kevin; Thomas, Kevin, Brian; Michael and Sean MacWilliams, and adored by great grandchildren, Ava and Jack Nicolson.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, September 9 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen.  A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 10 at 10:00am.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
