Doris E (Gondor) McElvery

Doris E. McElvery (Gondor), 91, of Piscataway, passed away on Thursday; July 19th, 2018 at the Chelsea at Bridgewater with her loving family by her side. Born in Brooklyn to the late Sara and Alexander Gondor, Doris lived in Piscataway for over 50 years.

She was a Librarian for the Piscataway Public Library for many years before her retirement. Doris was an avid Scrabble player, she enjoyed quilting, and loved animals.  She was a Girl Scout leader and a communicant of St. Francis Church in Dunellen. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Doris is predeceased by her loving husband Robert, and her sister Catherine Dee. She is survived by her daughter Nicole McElvery of Dunellen, her sister, Joyce Madill of Florida, her brother; Edward Gondor of Arizona and her beloved cat Tame.

There will be a visitation on Monday; July 23rd from 5-8PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen. A funeral mass will take place on Tuesday July 24th at 10AM at St Francis Episcopal Church, Dunellen. Burial to follow at Bound Brook Cemetery, Bound Brook. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Doris's name to St Francis Church,the Plainfield Area Humane Society,75 Rock Ave, Plainfield, NJ 07063, and Grace's Kitchen in New Brunswick, NJ.
