Deacon Stanley J Lorenc

Stanley John Lorenc, 75, passed away peacefully on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 at his home in Piscataway with his loving family by his side. Born in Passaic, NJ, he was one of six children born to the late Matthew and Mary (Tanski) Lorenc.

Stanley was a self-employed Tool & Die maker since high school. He met the love of his life, Patricia Namovitz when he was 16. They were married on February 15, 1964. It was a love affair that would last for 53 years, until she passed away on January 3, 2018. Those 3 months were the longest that they had ever been apart. Together, they would raise 5 children. He was involved with the Cub Scouts, the Boy Scouts, Indian Guides, and Indian Princesses. He was also a 4th Degree Knight and Past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2544. Stanley was ordained as a Permanent Deacon on May 23, 1982 and began serving Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Deacon Stan also served as the Chaplain for New Market Fire Dept. since 2004. He will be deeply and sadly missed by both his family and his church family.

Stanley was predeceased by his beloved wife Patricia. He is survived by his loving children: son David and wife Kim of Asbury, NJ, daughter Deborah McGlynn and husband Daniel of Hopelawn, NJ, son Matthew and wife Jennifer of Piscatway, son Bryan of Bridgewater, son Paul and wife Jany of Piscataway. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Erin, Megan, Benjamin, Julia, Jacob and Katherine. Stanley is also survived by his brothers, Jerry Lorenc and wife Maralynn of Fairfield Glade, TN and Edward Lorenc of Bethlehem, PA.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, April 3 2:00-8:00pm at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piascataway. A mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 4 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Cremation will be private. Since the visitation will take place in the church, the family respectfully asks that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Deacon Stan’s name to the Church Renovation Capital Campaign at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 501 New Market Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854
