Conrad Sims Conanan, 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 5 at his home in Dunellen with his loving children Sergio and Tina by his side. Born in Plainfield, he was the son of the late Sergio Sims and Anatalia (Briones) Conanan.
Conrad worked for over 40 years as a machinist for Cozzoli’s Machine Company originally in Plainfield. He was a diligent, hard working man who was known as “The Fixer”, because if it was broken, Conrad was the man to see to fix it. He was an outstanding guitarist, who’s influences ranged from Chet Atkins to Eric Clapton to Tom Petty. He loved to be in the company of his friends, loved to be near the ocean or simply outdoors, enjoying natures beauty. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Besides his parents, Conrad was predeceased by his sister, Lourdes Helen Conanan. He is survived by his loving children, Dustin Sergio Conanan, Tina Marie Conanan, and Sergio Sims Conanan. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Lillee Conanan, Theodore and Elara Singbaba.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, April 14 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen.
