Clara (Janos) Hardgrove

Clara Hardgrove, 80, of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater, with her loving family by her side. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Clara (Lostak) Janos.

Clara worked for 12 years catering at Met Life in Bridgewater. She was a member of Unforgettable Autos of NJ. She was also instrumental in bringing the battleship USS New Jersey back to NJ by raising money at the antique car show at Johnson Park for its return.

Besides her parents, Clara was predeceased by her daughter Claire, her son Chris and her sister Barbara. She is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Clifford (Rocky), and her son Cliff. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Candice, Crystal, Bryce, Melissa and Michele, her great grandchildren Michelle and Korbin as well as by her siblings Stephen Janos, Alice Gibbon, John Janos, and Josephine Happe, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday January 22 from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00 at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday January 23 at 10:00AM. Burial will follow at Cloverleaf Cemetery in Woodbridge.
