Christopher R Hickman

Christopher R Hickman passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey surrounded by loved ones. He was 37.
 
Born in Burlingame, CA , to Timothy Sr. and the late Penny (Piper) Hickman. Chris grew up in his hometown of Green Brook, NJ and was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, boyfriend, and best of friends to all who crossed his path.
 
Chris was always very mechanically inclined… he tinkered, he created, he fixed. He honed his skills in computer science and received his BS in Networking and Communications in 2010.
From then on, he could always be found making modifications to things to make them better.
From cars to computers to his father’s scooter, there wasn’t a thing Chris couldn’t fix or make it worlds better than it was before.
That was really the epitome of who he was...always striving to make things, people and even himself, better. Chris was just 2 credits shy of receiving his Masters degree in Network Communications & Security and would have graduated this coming May.
 
Chris’ success in Networking and Communications, wasn’t just limited to his educational life, either. Chris had this amazing ability to befriend everyone he came in contact with. His magnanimous personality lit up a room and you couldn’t help but gravitate to him.
Chris had a way of always lifting up the spirits of those around him, even when he wasn’t trying. His quips and hilarious one-liners would have everyone howling in laughter.
He was so outgoing and boisterous and so giving of himself, and he has left that imprint on all our hearts. He was also very sensitive, and would always go out of his way to do something for the betterment of someone else, whether it be holding a door for an elderly woman to giving up his last few dollars to a friend in need or driving hours out of his way to go fix the brakes on a friend’s car.
 Chris was all heart, and the world is a little less bright today without him in it. He will be missed deeply.

 Christopher is predeceased by his Mother, Penny (Piper) Hickman, survived by father, Tim Hickman Sr. of Green Brook, Brother, Tim Hickman Jr. of Green Brook, Sister, Sara Jones and niece Jillian Jones both of Bridgewater and host of loving relatives peppered throughout the U.S.
