Beloved Father and Owner of Krisza Hardware
Charles W Krisza, 95, formerly of Highland Park, passed away peacefully on Wednesday May 30, 2018 at his son’s home in Hamilton, NJ with his loving family by his side. Born in Rahway, NJ, he was the son of the late Michael and Mary Krisza.
Charles served his country honorably during World War II, serving in the Seabee’s of the United States Navy, aboard the USS Reuben James. He earned the American Theatre, Victory and Asiatic Pacific Medals,as well as a Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was a graduate of Roosevelt Aviation School, and also had training in refrigeration and cooling repair. He and his beloved wife of 64 years, Julia, were the proud owners of Krisza Hardware in Edison for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW and Loyal Order of Moose. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and New York Mets fan, and also loved playing pinochle. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Charles was predeceased by his lifetime love, his wife, Julia in 2015. He is survived by his loving children: son Joseph and wife Dianne of Milltown, daughter Mary Lynn Dorner and husband William of Fair Haven, son Michael and wife Denise of Hamilton, and daughter Melonie Marano and husband Rudy of Green Brook. Charles is also survived by his 10 cherished grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, June 1 from 4:00-8:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 2 at 10:00am at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Dunellen. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a veterans support organization of your choice or the VFW Post 2319 or American Legion Post 25 in Milltown NJ.
