Barbara J (Hartfelder) Carlisle

Barbara J. Carlisle, 77 of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at RWJUH in New Brunswick with her loving family by her side.  Born in Plainfield, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Howard and DaVena (Patterson) Hartfelder.

Barbara was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and the Bell Choir Director for many years.  Barbara was always laughing and brought happiness to many.  Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  

Barbara was predeceased by her husband, John S. Carlisle, Jr. (1974), her longtime companion, William Drumgould (2004) and her son, John S. Carlisle, III (2013).  

Barbara is survived by her brother, Howard Harfelder, Jr. and his wife, Carole of Port Charlotte, Florida, her son, Scott Carlisle and his wife Cindy, her daughter, Patricia Carlisle Torres and her husband, Jose, her daughter, Kimberly Florek, and her beloved grandchildren, Ashley Danberry, Caitlynn Florek, Alyssa Torres, Brianna Florek, Kevin Danberry, Donald Florek Jr., Alexis Carlisle and Meghan Carlisle.     

Friends may visit the family on Friday, June 14 from 2:00-4:00 and from 7:00-9:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00am at St. John The Evangelist Church in Dunellen.  Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara’s name to:  St. John the Evangelist Music Ministry, 233 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, New Jersey 08812 or the American Heart Association.
