Nance (Teevin) Burke

Nance Burke passed peacefully on March 23, 2024.  She shared 67 years of love with her family.  Memorial visiting will be held on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 11 am to 1 pm at the funeral home.  Donations in her memory may be made to the good work of St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, since both her and her husband were proud to donate to them year after year.

Born in Philadelphia to the late James and Mary (nee Barber) Teevin, Nance was one of four children to bless the family.  After her schooling she met Martin Burke down the shore and the rest was history. They settled in Green Brook where they joyfully welcomed and adopted their daughter Lauren from Peru. Being Lauren’s Mom, was Nance’s greatest happiness.  

She dedicated her time and heart to serving others, notably through her involvement with Middlesex County Senior Meals on Wheels. Her nurturing spirit extended into every one of her daughters' sporting and extracurricular activities, where she was a constant source of support and encouragement. At home, Nance enjoyed a good book and cherished the companionship of her animals through the years. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. 

Predeceased by her husband Martin (2013); she leaves her daughter Lauren Burke, her siblings Cindy Grant, Mary Ellen DeTheresa and James Teevin, Jr; and many more dear friends and acquaintances.
