Jeffrey P. Jones, Sr.

Jeffrey P. Jones, Sr. passed on April 6th , 2024. He shared 83 years of love with his family.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 15th at 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima, Piscataway, NJ. Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday, April 14th from 2 – 5 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, Dunellen. Jeffrey was born on February 8th , 1941, to the late Robert and Catherine (nee McGinley). He was one of four children to bless the Jones family. Jeff met Carol Zimmel on his paper route and the rest is history. They fell in love and married on February 16th , 1963. They settled in Piscataway and welcomed four children. Jeff worked hard for over four decades at PSE&G providing a good life for his family. He retired as a senior chief with IBEW Local 94.

Outside of work, Jeff was a man of many passions, from making his way around the fairways of golf to the waters of both fresh and saltwater fishing, crabbing or hunting. His fun-loving spirit led him on countless experiences. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was bowling with friends, cooking or eating a good meal, camping under the stars or gathering around a crackling campfire. He relished in a good or even not so good trip to Atlantic City, excited to play spin poker slots or try his luck at the let-it-ride table. He played the lottery without fail and was eager to win big on both his weekly tickets and scratch offs.

Perhaps what Jeff was most known for was his love for his family, his sense of humor and his extensive storytelling. He was a devoted husband to Carol for over 61 years; a loving father, a proud grandfather and a doting grandpa to his grand-pups. His spirit will never leave us and we are grateful for his love and generosity.

He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Carol; his children Jeffrey Jr. (Cavie), Tracy, Coleen (Ralph) and Kevin; his grandchildren Gregory (Stephanie) and Kelly (Jessica); his sister Louise Karach; sister-in-law Maureen Jones; his grand pups Lexi and Chloe and great grand-pup Penelope; and many dear nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. His brothers Robert and Lawrence passed before him.
