Helen J. Norton

Helen “Meme” J. Norton, 94 passed peacefully on April 5, 2024.  Friends and relatives may gather on Wednesday, April 10th from 4-7 PM at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen NJ.  Funeral will take place on Thursday, April 11th at 10AM from the funeral home, processing to Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick. 

Helen was born in Missouri. She moved with her Mom to NJ in 1943 where she attended Bound Brook High School. She married at 18 and was blessed with three sons whom she adored.  Helen was an exceptional dancer and loved the jitterbug.  We know she is dancing in heaven today.

 She made the best meatballs and cheesecake! Her family was her world and she loved being around for visits and holidays.

In Helen’s younger years she worked as a waitress at New Markert Diner and became a bartender at Sit N’ Bull Tavern in Piscataway.  Eventually, she retired from Thielex Plastics.

Helen was a proud Grandmother of 10, GREAT Grandmother of 14 and GREAT-GREAT Grandmother of 1.   Although we are saddened with her passing, we take comfort in knowing her welcoming at St. Peters Gate was tremendous with her loved ones who have gone before her. 

Predeceased by her husband Robert Norton; her son Robert C. Marchie; daughter in law Kim Marchie; grandchildren Gary Marchie and Heather Marchie and great grandchildren Tubal and Angelina; she leaves beautiful memories to her sons Michael Marchie Jr., Garry Marchie and daughter in law Sherry Marchie; stepson Ron Norton (Kris); her grandchildren Michelle Neal (Gary), Robert Marchie Jr., Michael Marchie III (Dominique), Nicole Latch (Rob) Lena Marchie, Kim Katsikis (Nik), Melanie Marchie and Scott Marchie (Jennifer) and Kurtis;; her great grandchildren Nicholas, Tyler, Caden, Noah, Kiersten, Luke, Dominic, Orion, Anthony, Tyler, Hope, Brielle; and her great-great grandson Jaxon.
