Eleanor B. Nappa, 97, of North Plainfield passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at her home after a long illness surrounded by her loving family.

Eleanor was born in South Plainfield, NJ on December 4, 1926.  She attended Catholic school in South Plainfield and graduated from North Plainfield High School.  She married Charles A. Nappa on May 24, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church in South Plainfield.  Before Eleanor married, she worked as a secretary for National Starch and Singer Sewing Company in Plainfield and years later, she was a caregiver to three dear friends.  She enjoyed writing poetry and published a children's book, 'The Tiniest Fir Tree.'

Eleanor attended St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in North Plainfield, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Reflections on Faith group, and various Bible study and prayer groups.  She also wrote for the parish newsletter, 'Visions.'  On Friday afternoons she would bake a cake and volunteer in the Bingo kitchen.

Eleanor is predeceased by her Husband, Charles A. Nappa in 2021; her parents, Biase C and Theresa (Capraro) Melillo; her 3 sisters - Marie Melillo, Rachel Melillo, Grace Aubry; and a brother, Charles Melillo.  She is survived by her 3 children (and spouses) Barbara (Andrew) Brownbridge of Green Brook; Charles (Frank Kotulka) Nappa of Millsboro, DE; Anita Nappa of North Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews.
