Richard T. Bartilotti Sr.March 4, 1930 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 87)
Richard T. Bartilotti Sr., 87, of Hillsborough, died Aug. 1, 2017 at Foothill Acres Nursing Home in Hillsborough, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Carbondale, Pa. and had lived in Spotswood and Newark and Piscataway before his move to Hillsborough. He was employed as a locksmith for 40 years with Ace Locksmith in Springfield before retiring when he was 62. His wife Dorothy preceded him in death in 2013. Richard served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was stationed in Alaska which he absolutely loved. Cooking had been a passion of his and he was extremely skilled with his hands which in turn allowed him to be able to fix anything. He had been a communicant of Immaculate Conception in Spotswood. Richard was also a member of the St. Rose of Lima Imperial Lancers Drum & Bugle Corp. He also enjoyed bowling with the St. Rose Bowling League.
Surviving are a son Richard Jr. and wife Carol of Dunellen, a sister Grace Verga of Nutley, a brother Frank of Spotswood and 2 grandsons Daniel and wife Amanda of Hoboken, and Michael of Alexandria, Va.
Visiting is Fri. 2-4 7-9PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. There will be a 10AM Mass of Christian Burial on Sat.at St. John’s Church, Dunellen.
