Raymond E Applegate

Raymond E. Applegate, 62, of Dunellen, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Haven Hospice in Edison after his battle with pancreatic cancer, with his loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Raymond and Irene (Lindorff) Applegate. Ray was employed as a Systems Engineer for AT&T in Bedminster for many years. He had a love for driving and enjoyed belonging to the BMW Club.  Anyone who knew him well also knew of his love for the Grateful Dead. His greatest joy though, came from the love of his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Dianne Applegate (Sheenan) and his loving children, daughters, Jennifer Novack and her husband, Travis Novack, of Chicago, Illinois, Lauren Applegate of Dunellen and his sons, James Applegate and his girlfriend, Kelsey Davis, of Dunellen, and Matthew Applegate of Dunellen. Ray is also survived by his brother in law Timothy Sheenan and his wife, Clare, his sister in law Carol Sheenan, his nephew Michael Sheenan and his nieces Megan and Melissa Sheenan. He is also survived by his Uncle, Alfred Lindorff, as well as by many loving friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017, from 2:00-4:00pm and from 7:00-9:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen, New Jersey. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Church in Dunellen. Cremation will be private.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Raymond’s name to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research at Lustgarten.org.
