Peter J. Cummings, Jr

Peter J. Cummings, Jr, 63 of Jersey City, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 25, 2016 at his home. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he was the son of the late Peter J and Marjorie (Pope) Cummings, Sr.

Peter was a Registered Nurse, and devoted his life’s work to the care and comfort of his patients, most recently at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ. His lifetime of service included being a paramedic in New Brunswick for 5 years, and a member of the Dunellen Volunteer Fire Department as well as the Dunellen Rescue Squad. Peter was passionate about music and played the bass guitar in several bands.  His favorite place to visit was California and he was an excellent cook. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Peter is survived by his loving sisters, Mary Beth Cummings of La Crescenta, CA, Peggy Cummings of Kendall Park, NJ, Catherine Cummings of Kendall Park, NJ and his brother Edward J Cummings and his wife Denise of Clark, NJ.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 30 from 4:00pm-8:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen with a memorial service at 7:00 pm.
