Norman E Luthman, 91 of Piscataway, passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice at John F Kennedy Hospital in Edison, NJ on Wednesday August 2 surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 24, 1926 in Plainfield to Carl and Sara Luthman and was raised in Piscataway, lived a portion of his life in Dunellen where he raised his family before returning to Piscataway.
Norman was a proud World War II Navy veteran. He was a well known carpenter contractor, later working with his sons under Norman Luthman & Sons. He was an avid bowler, participating in several area leagues. He enjoyed doing his puzzles, bird watching, trips to Atlantic City with his spouse and siblings and spending his summers at Midway Beach. But he mostly enjoyed spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is predeceased by his infant son Norman, and his 3 brothers, Carl, Nels and Richard. Survived by his wife of 65 years Catherine Blaine Luthman of Somerville; his sons Scott and wife Cheryl, Tim and wife Catherine, Michael and wife Michelle, all of Piscataway; and his daughter Lori and her boyfriend Russ Logan of Flemington. He is also survived by his 7 cherished grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as by his sister Ruth of Virginia Beach, VA.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 6 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen. Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 7 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Piscataway. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.
