Mary Ann (Brinson) Althausen

Mary Ann Althausen, 74, passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at her home in Branchburg. Born in New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Opie and Mary (Koscso) Brinson, Sr.

She earned a degree in electrical engineering from the Newark College of Engineering and became one of the first females to pursue a career in the field.  Mary Ann owned and operated two companies over the past 40 years: The former Export Consultants Corp., which sold military aircraft and helicopter parts, and the present Allten Company, which is a construction/remodeling firm.  She had a great love for bowling and the friends who became family to her.  She was President of the former Somerset-Hunterdon Women's Bowling Assn., and was presently the 1st VP of the Somerset-Hunterdon USBC Assn.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her brother, Opie Brinson, Jr and her sister Linda McCray. She is survived by her sister Marlene Gorel and husband Jim of Piscataway, and her brother Lewis Brinson of Savannah, GA, as well as by her 5 nieces and her nephew.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, November 19 from 2:00-6:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen with a funeral service to be held at 5:30. All other arrangements are private.
