Mary A (Renda) Murray

     Mary "Gram" Murray passed away August 15, 2017.  She was 87 1/2 years young. Gram was a lifetime resident of Somerset County with the majority of that time being spent in      Green Brook Township.

    Mary loved her family and was happiest making eggs on Sunday for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family on the beach, attending her grandchildren's  sporting events, playing with her great-grandchildren, and watching the Yankees with her loved ones.  Every Wednesday night, she would play Rummy with her sisters until all hours. Gram was famous for her cooking and revered for her ability to comfort all.

     Mary was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Middlesex, NJ.  Her husband of 33 years, Robert Francis Murray and her parents, Ida and Alessandro Renda, predeceased her. Surviving to cherish her memory are her sisters Carmela Haas and her husband Richard, Rose Sansone, Frances Miller, and her brother Michael Renda and his wife Carmela "Dolly". 

        Mary is also survived by her son Robert and his wife Jean and their children Nicholas and his wife Solmayra, Carly, Robert, and Jeison; daughter Robin and her children Meghan and Sha Malik, Andrew Flanagan and his fiancé Jaclyn Noll, and Sarah and Lawrence Pemberton; daughter Lisa and her partner Gary DeJohn and Lisa's daughters Marissa and Lindsay; son Patrick and his wife Sue and their children Victoria, Kristina, Alesandro, Samantha, and Jack; son Raymond and his wife Marilyn and their children Kyle, Erin and Ryan; and son Michael and his wife Kelly and their children Alyssa, Michael, Gianna and Isabella.  Mary's pride and joy were also in her great-grandchildren, Sami Malik and June and Nash Pemberton.

Visitation will be on Sunday, August 20, 2017, from 1-4 PM & 6-9 PM at Sheenan Funeral Home at 233 Dunellen Avenue in Dunellen, New Jersey. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 AM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church 600 Harris Avenue Middlesex, NJ 08846.  Interment will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield. In lieu of flowers, of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to St Jude's Childrens Hospital at Stjude.org
