Marita (Rita) A Rohrbacker

Marita (Rita) A Rohrbacker, 90, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Middlesex on Thursday February 9, 2017 with her loved ones by her side. Born in Middlesex, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Wingert) Gibney.

Rita had a love of many things, but her greatest joy came from being with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed happy hour at family events and loved being by a swimming pool, whether it was the community pool in Middlesex, her granddaughter's home pool in Bound Brook, her granddaughter's home pool in Pennsylvania, or her son's home pool in Florida.  Happy hour would always be observed. Rita had a vitality and vigor that belied her age. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Rita was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert. She is survived by her loving children, John Gear and wife Carol of Ormond Beach, FL., her daughter Victoria Nodes and husband Bernard of Middlesex, and her daughter Robin Bennett and husband Jack of Middlesex. Rita is also survived by her 6 cherished Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 17 from 4:00-8:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 18 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Lake Nelson Mausoleum in Piscataway.
