Bill and Michele, I do not know you personally but I am a parent and would like to offer my heartfelt condolences to you in the loss of your daughter. Losing a loved one is always difficult, but when it is someone so young, it is heartbreaking!! But may your family, friends and most of all, Almighty God be with and strengthen you in the days and months ahead.(Isaiah 41:10, 13, Psalms 83:18) Please try to obtain the brochure “When Someone you Love Dies”(jw.org). It was very comforting to me during my time of lost. Again, my condolences.

I was on FB for the first time in a few days and saw this. I am shocked and saddened for you. My deepest sympathy for your loss. I had the pleasure of hosting Lillian and her classmates two years ago when Marywood visited Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity over their spring break. She was very memorable. Always with her camera and a smile. My heart is heavy, even broke by the news. But, as a Christian, I am 100% CONFIDENT that Lillian was greeted at the gates of heaven with open arms and a "Welcome My Child".
May comfort come.

I was so heartbroken to hear the news of Lillian's passing. She was a student in my preschool class over fifteen years ago but one could never forget that sweet smile of hers. She was also a helper to my neighbor in the Special Olympics and I sent her a hello message through Facebook. It's always nice when a preschooler remembers you.. She will be missed by so many and I hope the beautiful memories will bring you comfort. Thinking of her family and friends.

Dearest Lillian....I was only beginning to know you through my Grandson Matt and on Facebook. I knew after a few posts back and forth that you were a sweet and loving girl and I was pleased that you were in Matt's life. A grandmother always hopes that their Grandson will find a special person to be with and I could tell that you were that person. I am so sorry that I wasn't able to meet you in person. I am sorry for you and Matt that God for some reason needed you to come home to Him. Please watch over Matt and give him reassurance that you are at peace and that you will always be with him in spirit. You were his world and he loved you dearly. May we all meet one day in Heaven. Love...Gmom Krejci

I was lucky to meet Lillian while we were both volunteering for the Special Olympics our Junior Year in High School. I wanted to share with her loved ones something my Nana recently said to me, that those taken too soon from this world were too pure for it. God needed them with Him as company and guardians for those who sins keep them earthly. Only our own human greed keeps us wanting Lillian on earth and not in heaven with God. I promise you she is in good company. And you are being watched and protected by the most generous of Angels. My sincere condolences. May the light of God and protection of Lillian keep you going.

I was Lillian's resident assistant at Marywood during the last semester of her freshman year. I was really nervous to become an RA, but Lillian was one of the first of my residents I met and her kindness really eased my nerves. I enjoyed getting to know her through our programs and hall activities. When I heard of her passing my heart sank and I cannot imagine what you all are going through. I wanted to express my condolences and let you know that I am praying for you all. Lillian will truly be missed by myself and everyone at Marywood who had the pleasure of meeting her.

Bill, Michelle and Patrick,
We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Lillian. It breaks my heart and we want you to know that we will be praying for her and for all of you!
Here is a little poem called "The Lent Child" that has comforted my family when we had similar passing's in our family. I hope it helps:
I’ll lend you for a little while a child of mine, God said,
For you to love her while she lives, and mourn for when she’s dead.
It may be six or seven years, or only twenty;
But will you, till I call her back, take good care of her for me?
I’ll bring her charms to gladden you, and should her stay be brief,
You’ll have the lovely memories as a solace for your grief.
I cannot promise she will stay, since all from earth return;
But there are lessons taught below I want this child to learn.
I’ve searched the whole world over, for teachers kind and true;
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lane I have chosen you…
Now will you give her all your love? Nor think the labor vain?
Nor hate me should the angels call, to take this child back again?
To which the parents did reply, Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joys thy child will bring, the risk of grief we’ll run.
We’ll shelter her with tenderness, We’ll love her while we may…
For all the love this child will bring, forever grateful we will stay.
But should the Angels call for her much sooner than we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes and try to understand.
