Josephine Vargo, 90, a lifelong resident of Dunellen, died peacefully at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Dunellen to the Late John and Elizabeth Dragon. Josephine worked at the Green Brook High School as a cafeteria worker for several years before her retirement. She was a communicant of St. John’s in Dunellen and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Her husband Joseph died in 2002. Surviving are two sons, Paul of Riverside, Cal., Joseph of Dunellen, two daughters Eleanor Elliott of Murfreesboro, TN., Claire Kuhl of Mechanicsburg, Pa., 2 brothers , John Dragon of Lakewood, and Milton Dragon of Vineland, 11 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 25 at 11:00 AM at St John's Catholic Church in Dunellen, with her cremated remains being entombed at Resurrection Mausoleum in Piscataway afterward.
