Joseph M Kostiuk

Joseph M Kostiuk, 93, of Piscataway, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016 at Abingdon Care Facility in Green Brook. Born in Poland, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Rose (Stebensky) Kostiuk.

After graduating high school, Joseph served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II.  Upon returning home, Joseph worked as a draftsman for Bell Labs in Murray Hill, retiring after 35 years of service. He was active in both the American Legion Post 261 in Piscataway and VFW Post 201 in Dunellen. Joseph was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #2544 for St John’s Catholic Church in Dunellen. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Thoris (Kane) in 2008 and by his sons Kenneth and Joseph  in 2012. He is survived by his son Terry Kostiuk of Piscataway, and his daughters, Karen Kostiuk of Piscataway, and Bonnie Lobosco of Easton, PA. He’s also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Kristen and Eileen McFadden, Colby Nuttall, and Lisa Reinhardt.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 10 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM and from 7:00PM-9:00 PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 11 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park in Piscataway.
