John P Mack, 81, of Bluffton, SC, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Coastal Carolina Hospital in Hardeeville, SC. Born in Jersey City, NJ, and formerly of Dunellen, NJ, he was the son of the late John and Ruth Mack.
John served his country honorably in the United States Army, having been stationed in Greenland. He was a retired Jersey City police officer. John enjoyed camping, watching his favorite NASCAR drivers on TV and being with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother Timothy Mack. He is survived by his son, John J Mack of Bluffton, SC, his daughters, Debbie Mack of Bluffton, SC, and Linda P Lance and husband Roger of Palm Desert, CA ; his sisters, Connie McDougall, of Bluffton, SC and Catherine Auriemma of Fairfield, ME and his cherished grandchildren, Nicole Mack and Amanda, Matthew and Justin Lance.
A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. John’s cremated remains will be buried at Weehawken Cemetery in North Bergen, NJ on Monday April 10 at 11:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in John’s name to the Disabled American Veterans at dav.org/donate.
