Hugh Emanuel Haynes

May 25, 1920 ~ September 18, 2017 (age 97) 97 Years Old

 

Hugh Emanuel Haynes was born May 25, 1920 in New York, and passed away September 14, 2017. He was the son of Mavis and Nathaniel Haynes. He was preceded in death by his brother Clifford and he has a sister Natalie, who resides in California. His daughters are Danielle (Neely - daughter of Euricka), and Yushiciachanuvia (Shika - daughter of Gloria). His grandchildren are Glenfield and Vanessa and great-grands, Olivia and Sebastian. His faithful companion is Gloria and the children he helped raise are: Rosita, Kuarathia (Daria), Karn, Ian and Channeell. He is also remembered by John, Valerie, Kenny, Helen, Shaanna and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. His loving pets are:Butter, Buddy and Mikie. He pursued many vocations and interests in life including serving in World War II in the Army as a Merchant Marine. He was also a Social Worker, Drug and Alcohol Counselor, Taxi Driver, Ambulance Driver and Television Cameraman in Washington D.C. He enjoyed singing and playing Bingo at the Roswell Senior Center in Roswell, Georgia., where he made many friends and made many happy during the Talent Shows! He also took part in the yearly Sickle Cell Marathon in Piscataway, New Jersey by singing and raising money. He was an avid traveler and enjoyed other cultures. He was a proud graduate of Brooklyn College and Rutgers University. The family wishes to thank the staff and clients of the Roswell Senior Center in Roswell, GA; the Northside Hospital in Atlanta and the Bristol Hospice in Atlanta, GA for their kind service and care. Special thanks to Cheryl, Charleena, Amy, Carmela, Tommy, Kendall, Yola and his driver Phil. He will always be remembered for his ready smile and desire to be of assistance in making the world a better place! Rest in peace, Hugh, Daddy, Pop-Pop, "oh Hugh'.... You deserve only the best! We love you and you will be greatly missed! In lieu of flowers, family is requesting any donations be sent to the Roswell Senior Center or the Roswell A.S.P.C.A. in his name.

 

There will be a visitation and funeral service on Thursday; September 21st, 2017 from 10-12PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen NJ.
