Edward J. Kababik, 91, of Green Brook, died peacefully Feb. 9, 2016 at Somerset Valley Rehab Center in Bridgewater with his loving family by his side. He was the last of his many siblings who have since passed away. He was born in the Bronx and had lived in New Market before his move to Green Brook 70 years ago. He worked as an electrician for Lockheed in Watchung for 35 years before retiring several years ago. He was also a Navy veteran serving honorably during WWII. Edward was a communicant of St. Luke’s Church in No. Plainfield. In addition to being an avid football fan, he loved fishing, playing hockey and was an animal lover, especially dogs.
Surviving is his wife of 69 years, Loretta, 2 sons, David and his wife Dana of Whitehouse, Edward and his wife Lynn of Golf Breeze, Fl., a daughter Allison and her husband Greg Becker of Whitehouse Station, 2 grandchildren Christopher and David Kyle, and 2 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Friday, February 12 from 9:30 AM-10:30 AM at the Sheenan Funeral Home. A mass will then be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St Luke's Catholic Church in North Plainfield. Burial will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park in Basking Ridge.
