Audrey A. Hoppel, 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 14th, 2017, at home with her loving family. A Boontonite from birth to marriage, Audrey spent her final 39 years in Piscataway. She was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
During her career, Audrey held administrative roles at a number of companies, from Dell Publishing to Hanover Insurance Company. But she happily retired in 2009 to devote full time to enjoying herself.
Audrey had senses of humor and of adventure. She loved to travel (she saw the pyramids along the Nile …), bake, read (mysteries by the dozen), bowl, and spend time with her friends and family. She also never hesitated to roll up her sleeves and pitch in when someone needed help; her most overused phrase was, “What do you need?”
She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Michael; a wise daughter, Ann Marie; and a remarkably good-looking dog, Cooper; as well as a loving brother, Andrew (of Boonton), two sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, four nieces, and one nephew, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Andrew Pisarcik and Mary (Jankowski).
Audrey did not want her funeral to be a time of mourning and sadness but rather of celebration and remembrance. Among her final requests was that visitors not dress in black, but in lighter colors, to fulfill this wish.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 18th, from 4-8PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 19th, at 12:00PM at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Piscataway. Burial to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Our Lady of Fatima Church Renovation Capital Campaign, 501 New Market Rd, Piscataway, NJ 08854.
