Andrew J Kreiss, 86 of Dunellen, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Born in Jersey City, Andrew was the son of the late William and Mary (Pavlik) Kreiss.
After graduation from Bayonne Vo Tech, Andrew served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He also served in the Merchant Marine. A longtime resident of Dunellen, Andrew served on the town council and as both the police and fire commissioner. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara. He is also survived by his 5 children: daughter Karen and husband David Stahl, son Mark and wife Suzanne, son Matthew and wife Maria, daughter Mary and husband John Papalski, and his son John. He is also survived by his 9 cherished grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Andrew’s life will be celebrated with a funeral mass on Monday, January 16 at 10:00 am at St John’s Catholic Church in Dunellen. All other services are private. All arrangements are under the direction of the Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen.
