April 5, 1948 ~ April 28, 2016 (age 68) 68 Years Old

Alan M Buffardi, 68, formerly of Piscataway, NJ, and Dover, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE with his loving family by his side. Born in Newark, NJ, he was the son of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Cappuccio) Buffardi.

Alan worked for many years for the United States Postal Service before retiring some years ago. He was an Exalted Ruler of Middlesex Elks Lodge, as well as the chairman of the handicap committee. Alan loved NASCAR, especially his favorite driver, Rusty Wallace. He also loved to fish, go bowling and wrestling. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his loving wife Kathy (Polak), his adoring children, son Anthony and wife Jaclyn of Lodi, NJ, his daughter AnnMarie Pelosi of Trenton, NJ. Alan is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, his sister, Dale Michele Parello and husband Jim of Hamilton, NJ, his nieces April Krasznai and Marissa Araya, his nephews Jason and Keith Krasznai as well as by his sister in law, Donna Bell and brother in law Chris Polak. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 2 from 6:00-9:00PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 3 at 10:30 AM at Lake Nelson Cemetery in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan’s name to the American Cancer Association at AmericanCancerfund.org or to Seasons Hospice at Seasons.org
